Dr. Catherine M. Fox is a board certified psychiatrist in private practice, who specializes in adult general psychiatry. Dr. Fox evaluates and treats outpatients 18 years of age and older with psychiatric conditions.

A holistic approach toward patient care is taken as she addresses the biological, psychological and psychosocial factors contributing to mental illness. Dr. Fox has wide experience in a variety of psychiatric conditions that include: attention/hyperactivity disorders, anxiety and mood disorders, as well as problems that affect the medically ill. Postpartum depression and posttraumatic stress disorder are other areas of expertise. A combination of both pharmacotherapy and supportive psychotherapy is used in her treatment of patients.

Dr. Fox received her medical degree from the Southern Illinois University of Medicine, where she also completed a four-year residency in psychiatry.

Dr. Fox is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry who is an adjunct faculty member involved in the education and mentoring of psychiatrists in training. In 2003, Dr. Fox was awarded the Adjunct Faculty of the Year Award for Residency Training.

Dr. Fox is a member of both the Illinois Psychiatric Society and the American Psychiatric Association.

Dr. Fox will devise a treatment plan to help facilitate your return to a higher level of functioning through medication management, problem solving and support.
