James E. Myers

Dr. Myers is a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years experience in the field of psychotherapy. An Adlerian, he is Chief Psychologist at McFarland Mental Health Center. Dr. Myers conducts psychological evaluations and psychological testing.

In addition, Dr. Myers is certified in clinical hypnosis and is a certified focusing trainer. He is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. He uses Cognitive Behavioral, behavioral, mindfulness and other psychotherapeutic techniques as required to work with the people he serves.

Dr. Myers’ specialties include Habit Control (smoking cessation, weight management), pain management and treatment of anxiety disorders including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), panic and phobias, depression, personality disorders, and adjustment disorders. He works with people undergoing life changes and disruptions as well as individuals with more severe issues and developmental disabilities.

Dr. Myers treats individuals 18 and over, couples and families.
